Girls Team - Full Season

Build skills, Confidence, and Camaraderie. Spring & Summer Fun & Adventures on the Bike.

SMBA Girls is a program for athletes in 6th grade and up who have previously participated in camps or team programs, are ready to build upon their basic bike handling skills and want to spend more time on the trail. The team’s mission is to have a lot of fun while riding together, build team camaraderie, encourage each other to meet new challenges on the trail, build skills on the bike, and ride, ride, ride!

This is a full season program and athletes who register will ride together as a team with our Girls’ Team coaches throughout the spring and summer sessions (March – August). Like our other full-time programs, the Girls Team will focus on a continuous progression of skills throughout the year and set ride, race, and adventure goals tailored specifically to team athlete goals for the year. The program is designed to build a sense of team, teamwork, confidence, and self-responsibility; and further emphasize athletes’ roles as ambassadors for the sport of mountain biking.

Team rides will be organized around a progression from shorter after school rides on moderately challenging trails in the spring, to full day adventures on challenging trails, bike parks (Trestle/Granby Ranch) and fun routes in the summer. Girls program athletes will also have the opportunity to test the waters of racing at a team-supported race or two.

The Girls program gives athletes the opportunity to build skills on the bike; and fosters a life-long love for the sport in a fun, non-competitive and encouraging environment. Coaches work with each athlete to set both individual and team goals for the year and help them meet new challenges on the bike with confidence.

Program fee for the team includes coaching, coach support at scheduled races and adventure rides, van transportation for team travel, and camping fees during team travel.
