“I first fell in love with biking when I started riding with SMBA camps at 9 yrs. old. My involvement with SMBA helped me develop into a top athlete and has provided me with amazing opportunities, from representing the U.S. at two World Championships, in Scotland and Italy, to racing for the University of Colorado. As a young rider, SMBA provided me with a wonderful support system, taught me good sportsmanship, and how to always perform at my personal best. I cannot thank Matt and my other coaches enough for helping me become the person that I am and giving me the confidence to be a good ambassador for the sport of biking.”

“As an EMSC ski racer, I started doing SMBA day camps, in seventh grade, as a way to stay active during the summer. I was quickly hooked on mountain biking, but it wasn’t until I got older that I realized the extent to which I have benefited from SMBA. Initially, the camps provided a safe a fun place to foster friendships, a love of the outdoors, and an active lifestyle. As I grew more serious about cycling, SMBA’s experienced coaching staff taught me how to set goals and have the positive mindset to achieve them—critical skills that translate to all aspects of my life today. Though I may not be a mountain biker my entire life, I will carry the lessons I learned from SMBA with me forever.”
