Fall Team - Boulder

Part -time Fall Team

 

Get Outside, Ride with Friends, Have Fun & Enjoy the Fall Colors!

 

This is an 8 week program that includes after school and Sunday rides. Athletes who sign up for the Fall Team will ride with their coaches and athletes of similar age and ability throughout the session. The program is designed to help athletes continue building upon bike handling skills acquired during the summer, and learn new skills in a fun and non-competitive environment.

 

Fall Team rides are organized around a progression of skills over the course of the session; and emphasize having fun, team camaraderie, and good trail stewardship. Athletes will have the opportunity to ride on a variety of Open Space trails in Boulder and Lyons. Weekend team rides are longer and may include one or two rides on Jeffco Open Space trails and Forest Service trails in Nederland. Athletes may choose to ride 2 days/week, 3 days/week, or only on Sundays.

 

  • Weekdays Only: Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursdays after school
  • Weekends Only: Sundays
  • Both Weekdays and Weekend: Sundays + Monday & Wednesday, or Sunday + Tuesday & Thursday afterschool. 

Athletes must be comfortable balancing on their bikes, pedaling, and braking on trails with varying topography. To ride the trails safely, athletes must have a properly fitting, trail-ready mountain bike in good working condition. We recommend bikes with at least 24” sized tires. Athletes should also have a comfortable hydration pack or backpack with a water bladder (e.g., a camelback) and enough space to hold food for on-trail meals or snacks, a jacket for colder weather conditions, and  equipment necessary to change a flat tire and make minor trail-side repairs/adjustments.
