Full Season - Race Team

Fun, race focused training to introduce and prepare riders for mountain bike racing.

The SMBA Race program is for middle and high school riders who have ridden with SMBA in the past and are interested in testing the waters of mountain bike racing.

This program is designed to prepare and introduce riders to the skills and tools necessary to either begin their racing career or continue it! The season will be structured to provide the best preparation for the summer season of racing and beyond.

Athletes will work with coaches to set goals at the beginning of the season and continue to work through these goals together over the course of the year. Race team riders will ride together throughout the spring and summer sessions and focus on having fun, finding new adventures, and building skills to be successful racers.

Weekday rides will focus on building these skills through trail rides and more skills focused rides (such as bike parks), while weekends will focus on races.

The race schedule will be mostly downhill/enduro focused, however athletes will be expected to take part in at least one short track or XC race over the course of the season.
