June is here, camps are officially up and running, and there is even talk about ski camps at Mt Hood! We are happy to see the many EMSC/SMBA families participating in our summer programming opportunities, from SMBA mountain bike camps, to the ongoing dryland condition sessions! The summer SMBA camps are providing a wonderful component of mountain biking in Nederland and Boulder, of which many of the EMSC athletes are continuing to make this part of their summer “training plan”. Despite the snow, and cold temperatures in the mountains this week, riders continue to tackle technical singletrack trails in Nederland, […]
Wishing everyone well and hoping that you are all staying healthy during this time. We are optimistic that you are adjusting to the new norm and continue to remain productive with new routines at home. LERT has been adapting to the current situation and working hard with staff and board members to strategize for the future. We are doing our best to stay in touch with athlete groups and parents and encourage staying connected.
We hope everyone is staying healthy and has the necessary resources to stay safe and manage the “at home” protocols and strategies during this challenging time. With the increasing number of ski resorts announcing closures for the remainder of the season, we anticipate the same at Eldora, in which everyone’s health and safety is at the forefront. Shortening the season during the Championships timeframe was the last thing anyone anticipated, given many athletes were starting to peak and apply breakthrough elements (technique/tactics) to their skiing, riding, and events. Kudos to our entire program, coaches, staff and athletes for working hard […]
January has been a tremendous month for our alpine programs across the levels. We’ve successfully held several key events from a USASA Carve race on Chute, to the YSL, SYNC and NCAA races on LaBelle. We have welcomed World Cup athletes competing on the collegiate NCAA circuit to Eldora and with the help of EMSC conducted some of the best races of the season at our home mountain. Most recently on Chute, Ted Ligety had the opportunity to go head to head with the best skiers from around the globe and see firsthand the outstanding training venue our young aspiring […]
November has been a busy and exciting month so far for EMSC. Orientations brought more families together than we have ever seen. The 2nd Annual “Colder in Boulder” fundraising event was a raving success with all the delicious food eaten, the keg tapped out, some amazing door prizes, and every item bid on! Thanks to all of those that joined us! Our programs, Core, Freeride/Freestyle, Carve, and the BVSD Lifelong Learning course are all in full swing. We had a successful first official weekend on snow with all these wonderful programs.
October is here and we are excited to see the new snow in the mountains! On-snow training for the alpine team is just around the corner, and our SMBA mountain bike fall program is starting to wind down after an amazing fall season of riding. SMBA riders and families are encouraged to check out the winter programming, with teams ranging from Jr. Race, Big Mountain, Devo, Snowboard Carve, Freestyle, and Alpine Core. This season’s EMSC coach line-up brings the most experience, enthusiasm and excitement for the sport! EMSC has one of the strongest and talented group of coaches in Colorado, […]
Fall is officially here, and with the cooler mornings, we are looking forward to counting down the days to the start of season! Alpine coaches have been working with a stellar group of dryland athletes, and we are seeing continued improvement with speed, strength, agility and yes…rollerblading skills! Commitment to the program, fitness and conditioning is important during this time of year, as coaches are laying the foundation for a strong and successful season on the slopes. Throughout all our alpine programs, EMSC is proud to have the BEST coaches in Colorado, who are committed to the athletes, and dedicated […]
